(Vodka) Mango Lime Spritzer

Happy Birthday to Me! A great summer drink - and a great way to take the vodka taste out of the vodka. The beauty of this? You can go either sweet or not sweet with this combo. Your drink's destiny is in your hands, jedi.
Ingredients
- Ice
- Vodka
- Lime
- Mango juice
- Seltzer water
Tools
- Cutting board
- Knife
- Fork
- 2 glasses
- Mesuring Cup
Prep Tips
- Only ever drink fresh juice. At grocery store, buy the juice that has ingredients that say “juice” – not fructose and a lot of chemical-sounding words.
- To measure a shot of alcohol, let a slow pour come out of bottle and count like you’re playing hide-and-seek (one one thousand, two one thousand…).
- When making drinks, always combine (mix, shake, whatever) non-carbonated ingredients first then carbonated. Once the carbonated stuff is added, only stir gently if you have to at all.
Step-by-Step
- Fill one glass with ice.
- Roll the lime on the countertop (helps release some of the juice).
- Cut the lime in half.
- Poke it with a fork to help release juices (again…).
- Squeeze half lime over ice
- Throw in juice from other half lime later if you want to take some of the sweetness out of the drink.
- Pour a double shot of vodka over ice.
- Add 1/4 cup mango juice
- To get the effect of shaking the drink in a proper shaker (which I don’t own), slosh the liquid back and forth between two glasses to combine.
- Add seltzer water to fill the glass.
- Gently stir the drink and test.
- More mango juice to make it sweeter, more lime to make it less sweet, and more vodka to…you get the idea...
- Cheers!
