ABOUT HHK

Why We Do It

When we realized everyone around us was getting takeout for dinner and grabbing $10 salads for work lunches, we knew we had our audience because young people don’t know how easy it is to cook and bake! We didn’t know why people do this so we asked – they are intimidated by cooking, were never taught, think it will take too long, don’t know what to buy in the grocery store or how to shop for it, would rather go to happy hour than cook…the list goes on. Sadly, we couldn’t find anything on TV or online that taught cooking in a way that spoke to these concerns, so we’re giving it a shot!

What We Do

We work all day, come home and look for excuses not to cook (just like you), then eventually hunker down and make something in our tiny, city kitchens. On Wednesday nights, this process is our happy hour. We find or create recipes and make them approachable (and sometimes funny? You decide!). We only teach one recipe at a time because we find it overwhelming and impossible to learn from cooking shows where 6 burners are firing at once. In the process, we have successes and we make some mistakes too, which we try to teach from (if salvageable) or throw in the bloopers reel (if not). We’re not professionals and learning as we go along. We can only hope you’re learning as we go along too!

How We Do It

With the cooperation of our roommates, we film in our kitchens on Wednesday nights with one camera man, 2 cameras, and a little happy hour libation. We make recipe videos and how-to videos for the (few) kitchen skills we have and want to share.

Special Thanks…

…to everyone who ate our food and said you liked it. YOU gave us this confidence. Thank you to everyone who has every shared a recipe. You are our teachers. Stay tuned!
